This is why we have driven nearly everywhere since the downing of PanAm 800 in 1996. (Anybody here who really believes that that plane had a fuel tank explosion, please raise your hands.) I’ve taken one flight to Ireland since then and had the bad luck to be there over 9/11. My husband has probably taken 3-4 additional flights when business required it.
We wear out our cars traveling, but we arrive more refreshed than if we’d flown.

I am completely dissatified with the government’s unsatisfactory explanation for that occurrence. They raised the bar for covering up the truth on that one.
