Democrats launch counterattack to save Harry Reid's career

Democrats are preparing to throw the race card back in the laps of Republicans as part of a counter attack designed to help save Harry Reid’s political career.

First, Reid’s allies plan to distribute the NAACP vote ratings of Republican senators who have scolded him. The data will be made available to editorial boards, cable programs and the blogosphere — including votes on minimum wage, community-oriented policing, education funding and HIV/AIDS programs.

Separately, the Congressional Black Caucus plans to issue a new statement Monday, defending Reid and brushing back Republicans.

“Senator Reid’s record provides a stark contrast to actions of Republicans to block legislation that would benefit poor and minority communities – most recently reflected in Republican opposition to the health bill now under consideration,” CBC Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) said. “I look forward to Senator Reid continuing to serve as Majority Leader to guide this important agenda through the Senate.”

These moves to turn the race issue back onto Republicans is risky, yet it shows how Reid and his allies are ready to pull out all the stops to help the majority leader recover from his disastrous comments about Barack Obama being “light-skinned” and having no “Negro dialect.”

Didn't Obama cut off the funds that were allowing some low income students to attend charter school in DC making them return to public schools?

Good point. Obama and his democrat allies did pull the educational rug out from under all those blacks in D.C.

Reid's remark was not only racially insensitive to Blacks but was also denigrating to Democrats and the American people by assuming them to be bigots.
The NAACP and the Democrats may be forgiving of Reid but the American people are not going to let him get away with this!

I saw him on F&F...he claimed that there was “no comparison” between Reid’s remarks about Zer0 and Trent Lott’s praise of Strom Thurmond.

Fat Albert would defend any creep who promotes the growth of the welfare plantation, which is how the race hustlers and poverty pimps stay in business. Lott never once mentioned anybody’s race - he was merely being nice to a nearly 100 year old man. Reid used blatant racial references, yet he is innocent when compared to Lott.

One thing that has been clear for years - vote the liberal line and you will be a saint to the Left no matter what else you do or say.

“the Congressional Black Caucus plans to issue a new statement Monday, defending Reid and brushing back Republicans.”

O.K. That’s good enough for me. If the racist CBC has no problem with Reid’s comments, then I don’t see why I should have a problem with them. Just don’t be surprised if I don’t go into spasms of outrage if a Republican makes similar remarks in the future.

The smart thing to do would be,

I see no sense in coming to his defense. (Unless he knows where the bodies are buried)

The trouble with the pubbies - and everybody else inside the Beltway - is that they think Americans are too dumb to understand that a higher minimum wage hurts the poor. So they stay mum and take more abuse from the libs.

It is Republican politicians who have trouble understanding simple facts. Potomac fever is truly brain-damaging!

The question is, is the “white middle class” willing to fight for itself anymore?

In too many parts of the country, that group simply rolls over and plays dead.

To the Left, voting the lib line = fairness. Voting against it = racism.

For once the pubbies need to show that liberalism is the most racist force in history. It has created a welfare plantation from which only conservatism offers escape.

If the GOP was smart (I know - fat chance!), they would shut up and let Reid and the Dhimmis hang themselves.

No need to attack someone bent on committing suicide.

The NAACP is another leftist adjunct to the Democratic Party. It’s leadership is composed of leftist Democrats like Kweisi Mfume, the former Dem congressman, and Julian Bond. The NAACP officially opposes the Patriot Act. I assume Republicans that support it will get low marks. At present, the NAACP is simply representative of the far Left segment of the African-American population.

Unfortunately, the race hustlers have been so successful in pushing welfare statism to minorities that “liberal” has become part and parcel of the definition of “black” in this country.

A short chat with Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, or possibly Lloyd Marcus will speak volumes about what happens to “uppity conservative negroes’ who stray from the Dhimmi plantation.

Heck, what Biden said was just as bad and now he’s the VP.

Democrats can do no wrong.

Everything Republicans do IS wrong.

That’s what the libs believe anyway.

Living in a liberal hellhole like Detroit or New Orleans is similar to what happened to Eastern Europeans under communism - they became a crippled population.

After reunification, West Germans were disturbed by the disappearance of the old work ethic among East Germans. A collectivist government took all the initiative right out of them.

Our inner cities are no different.

Sharpton. The logic is out of this world. Mainly seems to be saying it is ok to be a racist..as long as you are a Socialist.

Allen, whose mother came from Tunisia, is well aware of what “macaca” means.

Instead of lying about it, he should have tried to laugh it off and say that was what his mom called him when he misbehaved as a kid, or some such.

The LSM being the way it is, Pubbies simply can’t get away with lies and coverups.

Sure, socialists like Reid make it possible for slobs like Al to keep feeding at the trough.

I know, and it infuriates me. I was raised to actually believe the words "content of their character, not the color of their skin". Silly me.

Instead, we have a whole group of people who have been almost destroyed because of race pimps. Families torn apart, rewards for bad behavior, poor education, and on and on and on.

Sorry, I'm just disgusted right now. I'll be back to the fight as soon as I can cough up this big wad of hypocracy that has been shoved down my throat.

But now we have the Tea Party Patriots on the march. They are becoming what parliamentarian governments call the coalition makers. To hold to their charter to remain non-partisan, they can control the two parties and I think they are beginning to understand the power they have at hand to be the Game Changer for our Republic.
