The run-up to the special election in Massachusetts to replace Ted Kennedy has brought a surprising possibility to the forefront: Massachusetts might not be as reliably liberal as the conventional wisdom holds.

Then why did the swimmer win every election with a huge majority?

Granted, Mitt Romney has swung hard to the right since leaving Massachusetts...

In your dreams, Michele.

The other reason is that some people associate the rat party with appeasement of black interests.

Massholes are notoriously condescending toward blacks, and pretty segregationist in their thinking.

More so than most other states.

In Tuesday’s editorial, the Boston Herald said that Brown’s service as a lieutenant colonel in the National Guard’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps gave him “a unique perspective on critical military issues and issues related to the war on terror.”

During Monday’s debate, Brown said that he was “scared” by Coakley’s views about how to deal with the terrorist threat.

“To think that we’d give people who want to kill us constitutional rights and lawyer them up at our expense, instead of treating them as enemy combatants to get as much information as we can under legal means, it just makes no sense to me,” Brown said.

Having lived in New Hampshire since 1961, I have had a long time to observe Mass. and its citizens who move north. Even the ones who move north to escape tend to vote majority Democrat. They talk like conservatives and then vote for Che Porter, Hodes and our current Democrat Governor, Senate and House.

Brown is a real long shot. I’ll be surprised if Coakley loses.

I bet ACORN is gearing up to steal another close election just like they did in Minnesota to send clown Al Franken to the Senate. If the race is close watch for hundreds of ballots to be suddenly “found” all for Coakley.

The part that I find rather surprising is the the key driving motivator appears to be disgust with Obamacare.
And of all people, Massachusetts residents ought to be the least resistant to that, since they’ve been living under the version Mitt Romney foisted upon them for several years now.

Brown definitely has the big mo....Personally, I think he could well take this!

“but the principle still stands: the people of the Bay State are not as allergic to voting for Republicans as one might think, for one major reason – independents.”
++++++++++++++++

This is how conservatives (like Reagan) can win in blue states - principled, but wise in how they run. I like how Brown invokes the JFK tax cuts...that’s just wise.

Go Brown.

I still think that Coakley is going to win this election. And what will sicken me is that we will see Obama and his minons come out saying that this election is a referendum on health care, that the people want it to pass. It will really piss me off!!!

Please, please Brown, win this thing!!!

While registered Dems outnumber registered Repubs 3 to 1, nearly half of MA’s voters are Independents.

If Brown wins this thing on Tuesday, look for many Dem pols seeking reelection to decide they need to spend more time with their families.
