Yes, and the immigrants, Catholics, and Jews were pro-Union (in terms of socialist organized labor), anti-WASP, and clueless about our constitutional heritage, with a worldview shaped by continental European statism. No wonder most of them voted for Democratsm who, outside of the Bourbon wing that all but died with Grover Cleveland, but still produced folks like Harry Byrd in later years, were effectively the American socialist party from the 1930s on.

Indeed!! Our Tea Partiers went to Atlanta last week and were received as if we were the proverbial red headed step children....I imagine if we were to go back NEXT week, we would find the reception considerably warmer...
