Earlier this month I travelled to the Naval Air Station at Guantanamo Bay for the fourth time to visit the detention center there. This trip, and the briefings I received, strengthened my view that the prison must close.
The current facility is state-of-the-art and the prisoners have habeas corpus rights, are assisted by legal teams and receive regular visits by the Red Cross; all at great expense to the American taxpayer. Yet most of the world still sees the prison as a harsh complex of chicken-wire cages deliberately established beyond the reach of the law. That black eye will never heal as long it stays open, and Guantanamo will remain one of al-Qaeda’s most potent recruiting tools.
President Obama is right to work toward closing it.
This is not to say that the inmates at Guantanamo aren’t dangerous—the vast majority is.
That is why I oppose transferring any detainees to countries that currently have an active al-Qaeda presence. But there are other options, which the Obama administration is considering—including trying them in federal courts and incarcerating them in federal prisons, which currently hold more than 300 convicted foreign and domestic terrorists. If we are going to defeat al-Qaeda we must live our values, and that means upholding the rule of law.
My suggested reply would start:
Jane, you ignorant slut!
Don’t hit the bully back, you’ll only make him madder.
Don’t fight back, you don’t want to sink to their level...
You should ask her whom we should hold accountable if NYC is hit by a terrorist attack during the trials.
I can’t fix stupid.
The Stupid Party, aka as the GOP, has been following that strategy for a long time. I guess we can feel smug and superior while watching the Dems destroy the country.
Wow I did not know that Jane had offered to put them up at her house. That’s pretty cool of her.
Maybe Bill Ayers can stop by and pay them a visit in their new digs.

Newsweak's LIE (they later conceded the point) that we were "flushing korans" down the toilets at Gitmo remains one of Al Qaeda's most potent recruiting tools.
Even Barack Hussein Obama says that in the end, facts don't matter as much as the PERCEPTION.
So when do we close Newsweek's doors?

Well that rules out the US. We know that there are Al Qaeda cells here.
Dear Jane: WTF should we care what the rest of the world thinks about Gitmo? If they don’t know the truth, well.... that’s the fault of your precious government.
They can trade notes on bomb making.

How about we bring them halfway and kick them out of the plane at 25,000 feet??
