This clip from this morning’s Morning Joe is currently making the rounds due to Peggy Noonan’s remark that today’s Mass. special election GOP candidate Scott Brown is popular because he “looks like an American” (which is not the full quote, though she doesn’t exactly redeem herself either). Actually, Noonan’s remark may be the least offensive to come out of this morning’s chat session on the subject; Donny Deutsch thinks the fact Brown not black or a woman may offer a “visceral comfort” to voters. The more things change, etc.
“We’re going back to basics, we’ve obviously had our first African American president we’ve had the female candidates and whatnot [and whatnot!] you look at him he looks like the candidate, the traditional view of the candidate, and is there a visceral comfort in that for people? I’m just curious from real kind of sociological point of view.”
Ah yes! The sociological point of view! Read: are people less scared because he’s white. Peggy Noonan can actually be heard disagreeing with Deutsch in the background before she goes on to note that Brown does mark a change in the voting habits of a Massachusett because he looks like “a new sort of Republican…he’s a regular guy who looks like an American from the middle, or self-made into a middle class, upper middle class guy…we’re seeing some evolution of what Republicans in Mass are right now.”
So basically a bunch of white people spent part of their morning remarking on how safe and attractive a Republican candidate is. Also, Mike Barnicle thinks Coakley is reminiscent of your least favorite substitute school teacher. Video below.

Exactly right. I liked her before 9-11 also but, she’s drunk the water from the Potomac and as far as I’m concerned, she’s done, she’s an opportunist and cant be trusted any longer.

How true, I knew a grad student who loudly proclaimed to be a vegetarian to me. I asked him why, and the silence was deafening, he did not really know but I assumed he wanted to impress the chick dimwits back at the U of Minnesota.
While Donnie Deutsch mouths his racist mantra, it is not Scott Brown that has the problem concerning race. Mr. Scott has no race problem at all, as most of us don’t. Remember MLK saying “judge a man by the content of his character, not the color of his skin”!!! Most of us, in fact the overwhelming majority of Americans, all of us, really do not have a race problem at all because most of us follow that credo stated by MLK many years ago. American Blacks however do have a problem and, it is not race, it is support for Barack Hussein Obama and his radical, anti-American, socialist, communist, facist agenda. I sincerely hope and pray that Black Americans realize that this incompetent, empty suit POTUS is placing their future and their childrens future in great jeopardy. Neither Barack Hussein Obama or the overwhelming majority of the Black Congressional Caucus could or do give a hoot about Black Americans. The only thing they care about is power and control. The sooner good Black folk realize they are being kept in chattel slavery by their own Black representatives and a POTUS that is drunk for power and total control of the lives of all Americans, Black, White or otherwise, the sooner they move forward into the freedom and individual ability and opportunity that America gives to all citizens. Obama and the BCC should be dropped like a bad habit or American Blacks will become totally associated with those who are not operating in their best interests. Continued support for Obama and his ilk will set Black Americans back to the dark ages. Obama is a failed POTUS for all Americans. Unbuckle yourselves and distance yourselves from the likes of Barack Hussein Obama. His path for all America is David Axelrod, Bill Ayres, Saul Alinsky, etc. all White dudes who want to weild and control you for their own political purposes!!! Wake up, Black folk, and get with program!!!!
It’s gotten to the point where just voting for a white male is automatically evil and suspect. Next, neither party will dare run a white male candidate because that’s “racist.”
Deutsch is a pretty boy who thinks he’s smart also. He takes himself too seriously without stopping to look for any insight into his lightweight superficiality.
