Massachusetts Voters' Message to Washington: It's Time for Action
SEIU.org ^ | 1/19/2010 | Lori Lode, Mark McCullough

Washington, DC -Service Employees International Union (SEIU) President Andy Stern released the following statement after Scott Brown's victory in Massachusetts.

"Today is no different than yesterday or the day before or the day before that. Pat DeJong will still wake up in Libby, Montana. Pat is still mourning the loss of her husband and the selling of his family's ranch because of his medical bills. And, Pat will still go to the bed side of her patients each day, providing excellent care, still lacking coverage of her own," said SEIU President Andy Stern. "Pat's reality is the reality millions of working people face every day. One political election does not change the fact that Pat and hardworking families across this country have been asking for and deserve fundamental reforms.

"The reason Ted Kennedy's seat is no longer controlled by a Democrat is clear: Washington's inability to deliver the change voters demanded in November 2008. Make no mistake, political paralysis resulted in electoral failure," Stern said.

A little perspective from n0bamas private army.

An example of a true Alinskyite. We lost because we weren't radical enough.

Not that the current Republican leadership will draw the right conclusions either. Remember, their current theory for 2008 is that they weren’t liberal/radical enough either. :P

I hope they go more radical and push harder than ever.

I want these Marxists to leave a bad taste in the mouths of Americans for a hundred years.

The last thing we need is for Zero to pull a Clinton and go “centrist”.

Rush covering it now. These people are delusional, and he hopes they keep it up.

You were saying ...

An example of a true Alinskyite. We lost because we weren't radical enough.

From what I've seen of the news and the analysts/political pundits, the Democrats are splitting into two camps here.

One camp says that we've got to back off, "hit the reset button" and then go back again with a health care bill that is pared down and eliminate some of the controversial stuff...

And then the other camp says, "No, you don't back off if you don't want to betray your principles. You go all the harder for what you said you were going to do!"

And so, Obama says this...

We're going to cram it down your throat whether you like it or not!

The fight is still on!

Sadly true. The lesson to us all is it isn't republicans or democrats it's Progressives. Both parties are infested with them, the dems just more so.

Take a visit to the DUmp or Daily Kooks and see what we're really fighting.

One political election does not change the fact that Pat and hardworking families across this country have been asking for and deserve fundamental reforms.

This scumbag's definition of fundamental reform is for me to pay for his member's health care. The people of MA get it and, when the people of MA get it, can the rest of the United States tax payers be far behind?

Andy Stern is taking the position that the vast majority of the American people are simply wrong.

Not a good place to bet your money, Andy.

Over on DU they’re saying that the Democrat Party isn’t left enough. I agree - they need to take an even harder swing left. That’s what will win them the next election. I would even adopt a symbol that represents hard working people in this country, maybe something with some basic tools in it. A hammer and sickle might work. Go for it, guys. Go left. Hard Left. That’s the way you win elections in America.

If Brown wins by 5 points in MA?

Senators in Wisconsin, Indiana, Washington, Indiana, Arkansas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Nevada and any other state up this year are soiling their respective drawers.

Keep it up SEIU. Just wait until a candidate comes forth that wants to decertify government unions as being not in the best interests of the government or the American taxpayer.

That man may think his look is withering, but should he ever have the unwanted opportunity of looking into mine, he’ll find out what ‘withering’ is all about (as I’ve been told moe than once).

And as for cramming it down our throats, bring it on. You, Bambi, have no clue what awaits you. That would be impossible in any event, being the psychopath that you are.

This did not come with a much needed *BARF* alert!

All the Dems will do this year is throw good money after bad trying to keep as many seats in both houses that they can. All we can hope for is that the tighter they squeeze, the more those seats will slip through their fingers.
