Ever notice how it’s always a House member talking about using Senate budget reconciliation with the need for only 51 votes, and never an actual Senator themselves saying anything about this?
You think maybe the Senators aren’t too keen on further alienating the few voters left that might want to vote for them come re-election time?
I think it's absolutely that and it's the fact that the vast majority of Senators don't want to abandon the filibuster. Most know that in the filibuster lies their individual power to make deals. There are some - like Al Franken - that would blow-up the Senate to pass healthcare, but I don't think many others would.
That's what I think of when Clyburn speaks, much like most on the left. Now that's real stinky hot air!
