I had to file for unemployment for the first time in my life (fortunately I now have a job).
I filled out my app online (this is CA) — and then got a letter a week later saying that they were investigating the claim as fraud. Somehow they got my SSN wrong. Not just by a little bit — but by a LOT. This should be impossible considering that I entered it into the online *FORM*.
Called them back, and got dropped a couple of times. Finally, got the right form that I had to fill out, and then had to wait another 2 weeks to get my claim approved.
These are the people who want to ration our healthcare.
I had to claim in 1998 after a big Motorola lay-off. It’s not a pleasant situation at all. Good Luck.
