“My first responsibilities are here in Delaware,” he said. “Therefore I cannot and will not run for the United States Senate in 2010.”
Loosely translated as “I can’t win so I’m not gonna play”

this is good news
couple this with byron Dorgan’s retirement a nearly sure GOP pickup and Scott Brown’s surprising pickup in MA 2010 is starting out as a good GOP year. If we keep all our retirement seats (6 i think) we would be up to at least 43 not including other potential pickups like Illinois, Colorado, Nevada, and PA. Now if some high profile GOPers jump into the mix in other states like Pataki in NY and Tommy Thompson in WI we could see some real substantial gains on Blue state turf :)

Even Biden’s idiot son can see the writing on the wall. Barry Hussein Obama is doing what the incompetent GOP cant - destroying the Democratic party. Gotta love it.

"My first responsibilities are here in Delaware," he said. "Therefore I cannot and will not run for the United States Senate in 2010."At one time, a Senator's first responsibility WAS to the state he represented. A pox on the 17th Amendment!

Yep, they put in a place holder and thought it was a 100% deal that Beau could glide to victory. But the GOP is on a roll and Nov. looks like a slaughter.
Can't have the VP's son losing the election for the seat his father held. So he won't run.
