We'll see.

The Tea Party movement, as it has been seen at the April DC rally and August town hall meetings has shown the average American that they are not alone in their disgust at the ruling class. This may have scared off people like Chris Dodd and Byron Dorgan from running again.

But the march of Time is also affecting things, with the passing of Ted Kennedy and the soon-to-be passing of Robert Byrd.

The true test of the Tea Party movement will be if it has encouraged new people to run for political office and challenge the incumbant ruling class, knowing that a willing base of voters would be there to support them.

You’re right, of course, Nat. We can’t clean out all the Democratic Leadership with Socialist leanings. We do, however, need to enlist the support of freedom-first Democrats in frustrating Socialist efforts to maintain control of the Democratic Party leadership.

Actually, I don’t mind America having Socialists. I do mind the Socialists being so strongly represented in Congress and the Executive.

I have a lot of Democrat friends, family and coworkers. We aren’t going to get much leverage by trying to get them to change their allegiances. They are just too dug in.

We can get them to become conservative Democrats, vote conservative in Democratic primaries, take an active role in creating a Party that represents them instead of a distant urban/academic/media elite.

I would be terribly disappointed if our country takes any more steps in the direction of Socialism. If the country votes its beliefs and takes that step, however, I am still an American and I will respect that vote.

I can act against this redirection of the nation by action within both parties. For all of the furor over the election of Scott Brown, it is the calling, letter writing, tea parties and general action in the districts of Democratic Congressmen that is stopping the Health Care Bill today.

These Democrats deserve our respect. Sure, we prefer Republicans, but right now we are leaning heavily on our Democrat friends, and those friends are standing by us because voters from their own party are standing with us.

Va, I am impressed with your logical, compelling and well thought out reply. I come from a working class democrat background (Think UAW blue collar household in upstate NY). Add in the fact that my grandparents left Atlanta in 1929 to escape racist (I.e. democrat)oppression.

I went to school with leftists, liberals, progressives and a few anarchists and communist radicals so I understand how they think and view the world. That having been said, I wish you well in your endeavor to persuade them of the moral superiority of liberty but the time is fast approaching when people will have to choose between liberty or tyranny. Remember, just was not built in a day, the republic will not be saved by folks with union jobs in government on on and section 8 vouchers.

While I try not to be dramatic and focus on conspiracy theories, I believe that we are at the same point as the old Roman republic and we are just election cycle away from casting our freedoms aside for cable TV and free health care. The bosses in DC have already mortgaged our future for panem et circenes. They did this because our education system is steeped in liberalism and progressive values that have made a mockery of our Constitution and traditions of private property, individual freedom and due process.

Meanwhile, I will prepare for the day when Cincinnatus, the Horatii and our modern day patriots will be required to once again assure liberty. Good Luck VA

The Tea Parties managed to hold off Health Care until the public caught up to kill it.

I expect the same effect on the fall election, The Tea Party is laying the groundwork, and the public will catch up in good time for the election itself.

We’re headed for a bloodbath, and this time it’s gonna be Progressive blood!

Thanks to all of us in the Tea Party.
