“Besides, her twin boys go to school in DC. They all like it there...a lot!”
And her husband is a physician. Practices are not easy to pick up and move once well established.

This is a lie! I just looked at my communist brother-in-law’s copy of Newsweak, and they said that the “Chosen one” is doing just fine. Oh gee! Who should I believe?

more importantly.. the ones that run in their place don’t have to explain why they voted for health care.

The problem I have with these retirements is, does that mean since they dont care about reelection, they will more willingly support a scorched earth policy? My concern too ... freed of the constraint of the electorate and not subject to recall, what deals will be struck to provide for life after Congress?

Good that means more conservatives will get elected. A "progressive" can't get elected in a lot of democrat districts outside of the cities. Bart Stupak is as liberal as can be elected in his district. Try putting a far left nutjob in that district and it will guarantee a GOP win for any republican who mounts any kind of real challenge.

That is why it is critical that the Republicans begin to nationalize the 2010 elections now. The electorate must understand that while the faces change the agenda stays the same.

I suspect many of these retiring Rats might be in the process of forming a new party.

I hope not. That will mean a likely Obama second term. And second terms are rarely successful. We need to win many seats but just enough to stop the nonsense but not get the blame.
