Paulson stutters when he lies, Timmy just sounds angry when he does.
There have been a lot of both in these hearings today.

LOL. This is the most fun I've had on a live thread since the impeachment days of yore!

Oh no...the chairman is letting Paulson the crook leave the hearing!

Dennis K is my favorite socialist. I never wonder what he really believes- he sticks to his guns- misguided as they are.

This is pretty incredible to watch...

Rep. Dan Burton getting in some great shots right now:

"It boggles the mind that some of the biggest people involved in this (Paulson, Timmy) knew nothing. Did some clerk somewhere make these decisions?? I don't think anyone is going to buy any of this!"

(Laughs a gallows laugh...look of utter disbelief and disgust on his face.)

On Paulson's panic-striken presentation to Congress on AIG in late 2008:

Paulson: "The failure of that company (AIG) would have been disasterous."

Questioner (D, Ohio): "ESPECIALLY to Goldman Sachs."

Paulson: "To the American People."

If he were drowning in the icy waters of the Potomac, my greatest concern would be which f-stop to use.

"f/8 and be there."

So- they really had no clue what they were doing. And NOW- TOTUS has TARP money for an endless slush fund.

Hank thinks the taxpayers will be plesantly surprised.

Yikes.

Yeah, and this committee wasn’t very happy about it either. Did you catch the one Rep. who said, “We’d rather question the NEW treasurer rather than the old one?”

Putting Tax Cheat Tim Geithner in charge of the US Treasury is like putting Tiger Woods in charge of a brothel.

The US Treasury really must be an all-you-can-eat buffet for this crook.

Yippee!

Someone tell that classless congresswoman to spit the gum out.

LOL. Are you watching this? If not you're missing some some of the best "must see TV" to come around in a looooong time.

Paulson and Geithner are getting tag-team body-slammed by democrats, republicans, liberals, conservatives, black, white etc. The anger coming from the committee is palpable and real, not contrived political poserism. I can't remember seeing anything like this.

I'm now beginning to believe that at some point, there is a good chance that one or both of these guys will wind up in jail or at least very serious legal trouble.

Here's an idea...how about if a few people do NOT pass go, instead go directly to jail, and do not collect $200?

Or any of their ill-gotten gains?

This makes Watergate look like a walk in the park. Too bad the leftist media propagandists won't report on any of it.

The internet, it's a wonderful thing. Thanks, Algore!

The problem is that Geithner has NO credibility. His excuses and evasions were extremely slippery. This is what comes from hiring someone who is a tax cheat. He can’t defend anything in a time of crisis.

In the “old days” there would be several enterprising investigative reporters working on this story...getting the real story would be a dream for any publisher.
