Large dogs are great for home security and deterrence.
They can also generally live long enough during a home invasion to give you those needed 4 seconds to retrieve your firearm.

Mine is always on my hip.
I am not paranoid in the least. Stories happen almost weekly of doors being kicked in. Not sure why anyone would want to have their gun in another room. May as well be on the moon if an armed thug kicks in your door.

Large dogs are great for home security and deterrence. Even a small, noisy dog is helpful. They're also more fun than an alarm system.
