Think Durante. He's legendary. Or Goebbels, he's legendary too.

Legendary doesn't necessarily mean "good," "just" or "righteous." Now, myself, I'd use "notorious" to label the likes of Cronkite, Rather, Couric, and a host of other paid liars.
