The people who vote for them have no problem with it. The majority of Marylanders neither want nor deserve freedom. Unfortunately, they screw it up for those who still think that rights mean something. The cretins who introduce and vote for this sort of thing will have no problem getting re-elected because their voter base is just a worthless as they are. The majority of Marylanders are those people Sam Adams was talking about when he said
If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms.
