Yeah, some criminal defense lawyers and their private detective operatives can be really sleazy, and some have been tied to organized crime and street criminals who engage in witness intimidation through online stalking, physical stalking, dirty tricks, express threats and sometimes outright arranging hits. However, local and federal law enforcement increasingly have become more sophisticated in dealing with these lawyers and their operatives, and there’s been a wave of indictments recently, and undoubtedly more are to come.
