Last week during the 6pm EST news update, ABC radio news used the term “teabagger.” I contacted WMAL. I received the response below today:
[my name],
I thought I’d pass along a note from Steve Jones Vice President of ABC News Radio regarding the use of the expression teabagger.
Thanks.

[my name],
I appreciate your writing and regret that phrase was used.
We have had a reporter at the convention since yesterday providing extensive and objective reporting. Unfortunately, our anchor was careless in using what apparently he thought was an acceptable short-hand phrase for the delegates.
I have made clear the phrase is unacceptable and I would ask you to judge our reporting on the totality of our coverage.
Thank you.

Well, somebody’s starting to get the message, anyway.
(Snort)
I got the same one.
Mrs S,
I apologize for the delay in responding to your concern over ABCs use of the word teabagger. I heard from other 630 WMAL listeners who shared your concerns and passed that sentiment along to Steve Jones, vice president of ABC News Radio. Please see Steves response below.
Best regards,

And I call BS.
The totality is slanted and biased....
Its a small victory, but we’ll take it.
However to respond to him, ABC radio news sucks.
