Dick Cheney not sold on Sarah Palin presidency
The Christian Science Monitor ^ | February 14, 2010 | Jimmy Orr

Posted on 02/14/2010 10:51:45 AM PST by kingattax

Former Vice President Dick Cheney said he hasn't made up his mind who he will support in the 2012 presidential election. When asked if he thought Sarah Palin was qualified, he punted. ---

Is Sarah Palin qualified to be president? Former Vice President Dick Cheney answered that question with an artful dodge this morning when he appeared on ABC's This Week.(see video below) "I haven't made a decision yet on whom I'm going to support for president next time around," he said to host Jonathan Karl. "Whoever it is is going to have to prove themselves capable of being President of the United States."

"And those tests will come during the course of the campaigns obviously," he continued. "I think all of the prospective candidates out there have a lot of work to do if in fact they are going to persuade a majority of Americans that they are ready to take on the world's toughest job."

You didn't think you'd get a yes or no on that question, did you? Come on

There are many politicians who like Palin and what she is doing but they will not be putting their banner over any candidate this soon...they will use their clout when it matters that their weight be thrown behind a candidate.

If Cheney were to come out against her, I would completely discount his opinion.

If Cheney were to come out against her, he would back up his opinion with solid reasoning. I'd most definately consider his opinion before making my own decision.

It's going to be up to the voters to see through the media bias!

That's exactly what I said, it's going to be up to the candidate, not all of them are capable of going over the media's head and get through to the people.

That was one of the gifts Ronald Reagan had, and personally, I don't see any RR's on the horizon.

If she hadn't resigned, she would have been a very broke, bankrupt, lame duck governor by 2012, and been totally neutralized by the 0bama/Soros evil doers by 2012. Resigning was the best thing she ever did.
She is now in the best position of anyone for a 2012 run.

Cheney said all the right things.

That's because he is the only adult left in American politics.

Cheney should have run for the presidency in 2008. He would have smashed the wannabe foreign policy/military genius Obama like a bug.

Wrong. There are legal barriers that prevent those kind of pot shots targeting the white house.

Cheney was asked about Palin, not Romney, so although his answer applied to all, he was asked about her. “

He specifically made it clear his answer referred to all potential candidates for 2012. There was no ambiguity about it.

To 2 - I will explain why your post is flippant. If Cheney objected to females in ‘traditionally’ male occupations then how would you explain Mrs Cheney’s career choices? Dick Cheney didn’t exactly keep her barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen.

Dick Cheney didn’t exactly keep her barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen.

Was that because of Dick or his wife? You are not giving his wife too much credit there.

1. A basic education in economics, macro and micro.
2. A basic education in world history and geography.

3. A basic business education”

Which of thse does 0bama have?
Heck the guy has never even met a payroll in his own co0moany before. Sarah Palin has. 0bama has zero real world business experience.

Yes his answer was ambiguous, because he’s smart that way. But he was asked about her. He’s not going to back anyone this early, nor should he.

” but why did Dick Cheney not select someone for VP other than himself back in 2000?”

As I recall, Cheney was hired to find a VP, but nobody was satisfied with the names introduced.

Hence, he was asked if he wanted the job. The rest is history.

Many folks voted for Bush because of Cheney. Many of us realized from the beginning Bush was a socialist and an idiot.

Just speaking historically, how many VPs have succeeded a two term president of any party? Other than Bush 41 and Van Buren (both one-termers) I can’t think of any. This was bound to be a Dem year, almost regardless of who the GOP ran or who might have served as W’s VP.
