“I want the Dems to hold the majority in both the House and Senate but with neutered margins.
Two reasons why winning the majority in the house is important:

Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Former Chairman Barney Frank.”

I hear you ... I really do ... but I can wait for 2012 that to happen. With this idiot megalomaniac as President, having a Goldstein on hand is essential to maintain some form of credibility (if you forgive Orwell’s 1984 parlance).

Right now that “Goldstein” is George W. Bush. That nonsense won’t last much longer and a new scapegoat is needed. If the Republicans control either the House or Senate during the final two years of Obama’s term, all blame will be shifted there in the likely event of failure. He’ll get credit for all successes as he seeks those (for God’s sake, they are taking credit for restoring Iraq for heaven’s sake).

If we had a fair press/media, things like these would be laughed at, but we don’t. We’ll simply have to beat the idiots in a manner where they find a way to lose by fighting each other.

Seriously, it’s all a “point fingers” and “pass nonsense bills” at this point in DC. I personally think it is the remnants of the late 60s losing control in DC. These people will not go down without a fight. Let the fight remain amongst their selves as winning control of anything in 2010 means that Obama simply has a new entity to bash in an effort to mask his shortcomings. If we’re lucky, the only lasting damage by Obama, politically, will be Sotomayor ... the rest can be fixed if we want to fix it.

Holding a majority in either house (especially the Senate) is a powerful thing for a Party that does not hold the Presidency.

It can effectively stop the Administration’s agenda (see 1994), which is what is sorely needed now.

It can prevent the subversion of the Judicial Branch by Progressives, literally for generations.

Goldstein is a tough guy. He can take the hits.

While I like the idea of getting control of the house and senate, I would also like to have an opportunity to purge RINOs in the primaries, even if that results in the Dems picking up a couple of RINO seats while losing other seats.
