Romney gearing up for 2012 presidential run?
ABC News ^ | Feb 16, 2010

Is Mitt Romney getting all the pieces together for another run at the White House?

What seems to many as a forgone conclusion may soon become a reality, with the announcement of Matt Rhoades as executive director for Romney's Free and Strong America PAC.

According to an article in Politico, Rhoades, who has served on other presidential campaigns and at the Republican National Committee was communications director for Romney's 2008 run.

With the upcoming release and tour for Romney's new book No Apology: The Case for American Greatness, Romney's 2012 intentions may be one of the worst kept secrets in the country. Incidentally, Romney's book tour will make stops in several key primary states. One tour stop that doesn't fit into the "key" primary category will be Utah, where the former Massachussetts governor and 2002 Winter Olympics leader will visit in March.

All you have to do is look at political record when he was governor.

When you are unable to provide a specific example, it looks like haven't studied the argument for yourself, and are instead just parroting back what you have heard others say. I doubt very much that I will ever be voting for Romney, but I wouldn't call him a RINO. He's reliably conservative, with a few exceptions. I'm just wondering if the people with the knee-jerk reactions even understand the context of those exceptions.

We know that Romney will run and there is a really good chance Palin will run. This will be 1980 redux: Reagan vs Bush Sr. It could be a fight to the finish.

“Reporting that Romney is running for President in 2012 is like having a newsflash saying the sky is blue.”

I know. I find myself happy about this. It means he is the Establishment candidate. Palin has to defeat someone, and I will enjoy it a lot more if she shellacks this phony loser than if she just demolishes a nonentity like Pawlenty or Huckabee. Romney is so unappealing and offputting as a candidate that he is the perfect foil for her.

I’d be interested in knowing why you classify him as a”RINO.”

The Real Romney

Rumor has Mitt doing the Rudy strategy. Ignore the south and wait for Super Tuesday.

By then, Palin should have it wrapped up.

He couldn’t upset McCain and he regards this as political strength? He probably won’t last long.

Mitt spent upteen millions of his own money in 2008 against a very weak field.

He ended up with a handful of votes.

I suppose if he wants to waste his money again in 2012, he earned it and can spend it as he likes.

I like listening to what Mike Huckabee has to say. However, some of his policies as governor does not match up to his rhetoric. His worst sin (being a climate warming believer) may be able to be successfully reversed with all the stuff that has come out this past year. From what I’ve seen of Pawlenty so far, I like. I admit, I don’t have enough info on him yet to support him. I think with his increasing visibility, we can safely say Tim Pawlenty is throwing his hat into the Presidential ring.

He will not have the support of Conservatives

If he is the Republican candidate and conservatives don't back him then we'll get Hillary. How much better is she?

“the Rudy strategy”

I think Rudy wound up with one delegate. They can call Mitt’s delegate the 50 million dollar man. Which will make Mitt the 50 million dollar chump.

I think that he will NOT run. He is fliritng with the idea, but when the chips are down, he will realize he has no chance.
