“A top White House official said Bayh, who called Obama on Monday morning, was “by nature a governor not a senator.’”

Who authorizes White House officials’ statements? They have a gift for saying the absolute wrong thing.

**faces a looming Republican resurgence and risks watching strong majorities in Congress crumble in November mid-term elections, and with them his ambitious reform agenda.**

Obortion O, we love this news. Too bad you don’t.

Thisis another bomb blast that may do great collateral damage to the DemonRats. I’’m especially thinking that a lot of their Representatives may be even less inclined to vote for a trick that would impose Obamacare on us.

"For some time, I have had a growing conviction that Congress is not operating as it should. There is too much partisanship and not enough progress -- too much narrow ideology and not enough practical problem-solving," he said.

What partisanship? Bayh voted for every major legislation that Obama pushed through the Senate. The democrats had the 60 votes to do whatever they wanted, and they did it with Bayh's vote. What partisanship is he talking about?

Obama would have been better off picking Bayh instead of Biden—Biden would have kept the Delaware seat in Democrat hands, and Bayh wouldn’t be constantly saying stupid things like Biden does. Apparently Bayh wasn’t far enough left for some groups in the party, but it may be that the Russian invasion of Georgia made Obama think he needed someone with foreign policy credentials (even one with a track record of being wrong most of the time). Biden owes his current job to Putin.

"The New York Times reported that both Obama and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel tried to convince Bayh to run again, but to no avail."

He must smell the tar & feathers brewing.

“It really doesn’t get much better than this.”

The stage is being set for the following:
Repubs retake the Senate this November.
This gets rid of Reid running the agenda, if he’s reelected.
The Senate can then stop all of the Pelosi House crap.
This shuts down the Obama agenda needing legislation.
Hopefully a Repub senate can stop bad Supreme Court nominees
Obama will be neutered and a lame duck for his last 2 years

In 2012, Obama needs to be gotten rid of. Hopefully, he’ll lose in a dem primary.

I wonder what the law is in Indiana. Is there a special election, or is the replacement Senator picked by the Governor? Obama knew what the law was in DE - replaced by Democrat governor. But, if the law is different in IN, he may not have wanted to cede the pick to IN's GOP Governor, Mich Daniels.

Maybe he is smarter than he looks. Might be getting out while the getting is good so he isn’t tied to the one.

Rush suggested that Bayh has Presidential ambitions and is getting out now to stay 'clean' for a 2012 run against Obama.

This is typical Dem tactic (we see it every election where I am at in Indiana).

The Dems do not run a primary - they cross vote in the Repub primary and then once the Repub candidate is chosen then they "find" someone to run against that person.

He spent several years as Gov of Indiana.

Look for him to either run in the Dem primary in 2012 for President or (more likely IMO) run for Indiana Gov again. Mitch Daniels will be done (2 terms) and Bayh would likely be facing Becky Skillman (current Lt Gov.) - which would probably be a very close race.

Rush Limbaugh seems to think this means that Bayh is going to challenge Obama in the 2012 Democrat primary.

The Whitest Guy in Indiana taking on the His Highness the Most Magnificent Chosen One? It’ll touch off a race war within the Democratic Party.

Just how long has Bayh been feeding at the public trough? Too long is my guess.

Well, if Obama didn’t continue to force his socialist, huge government, pro-abortion, and socialized medicine agenda down the throats of the American people, he might not be having all these problems.

He’ll probably never change. It’s his way or the highway, and I don’t think he even cares how many Democrats lose their seats in 2010. The narcissist in him cannot countenance any disagreement.
