I read soemwhere that Harry Reid was "the last one to know" of Bayh's decision. May be a clue there as to who may have pizzed him off.
I think what they really had in mind was that no one would qualify for the ballot and the local Dems would hand pick the candidate.
I’ve heard that, but if that was the case, why wouldn’t he just wait until thursday to announce — before the signatures are due, but after they need to be collected? Why give anybody any chance at all of getting the signatures needed?
