Kaine, Gibbs Arbitrarily Move the Goalposts and the Ball

Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of passage of the so-called stimulus bill and Barack Obama and his team were out earnestly defending it. Of course, in doing so they also had to tell quite a few lies about the results and even about its original objectives.

On CNN, Democratic National Chairman Tim Kaine announced that the stimulus plan had saved or created up to 2.4 million. That was a full 20% higher than the 2-million figure being used by Obama, VP Joe Biden and others in the administration. One has to wonder why Kaine did not just go full force with his lie and announce that the stimulus had already met Obama’s goal of saving or creating 3.5 million jobs by the end of this year.

Then during his daily press briefing, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs announced that the unemployment rate would probably be 11% or higher if the stimulus bill had not been passed. Of course, back when the bill was being debated, Obama and his minions were promising that the unemployment rate would not go higher than 8% if the bill passed. The current unemployment rate is 9.7% and it has been as high as 10.2% in the past year.

The media (except for a few conservative radio and fox personalities) lets this administration say anything and never challenges it on any of it. Ever.

Before his term is up Obama will probably claim credit for ending the cold war and having the most fiscally responsible government in world history and the media will, in unison, nod their heads in agreement.

How very sad.

I think the selection Tim Kaine was the best move the Teaparty has made so far. Brilliant!

Tim Kaine has performed the “hat trick” in three very Blue states, an almost impossible feat. There should be some kind of award for Tim Kaine. Any suggestions?

Oh, geeze, nj! Where do we start?
One of the best ideas he floated down here while being gov was to increase/add/establish moola for taking care of kids from age infant on...he tried SO hard to get the nanny state to take of all of us from cradle to grave - ergo, he’s a great rep for the Obambi admin...can’t believe the good citizens of VA ever fell for it!
Just heard some words from your new gov - whata great guy!
Congrats!
