Sarah Palin is a true conservative.

(btw, do you teach pre-school? What is that "thinking cap" stuff? ;)

“That’s it? That’s “disparaging?” Wow, he really skewered her, didn’t he? /s/”

You are blind.

As McPain USES Palin, Palin shows she is dumb enough to allow him to do just that - USE HER.

There are other videos and comments by McPain dissing her, but you don’t want to hear, see or read it. There is no point in showing them to you.

Well, deanna, you’re proving yourself to be a real beyatch.

President Bush is a fine man and was a good President. I’d give anything to have him in the White House right now.

You Bush bashers are proving yourselves to be what you pretend to be contemptuous of — tools of the MSM. After 8 years of hearing the MSM bash him, you fell into the trap.

I could list here all the great things he did for the country. I don’t know what you could list that is negative: he was not fiscally conservative enough, you might say. Maybe not, but by that time he was fighting a demo congress.

Or maybe you think he wasn’t tough enough on illegals. I really don’t know what your problem is, but you’ve insulted one of the finest, most knowledgable posters on Free Republic and established yourself as a hateful idiot.

Sorry — I have pneumonia and don’t feel like putting up with any sheeet.

Well, she does have a HISTORY of not working with the status quo. To me that’s more telling than campaigning for the person who is 100% responsible for introducing her to us. Integrity and gratitude are also important qualities. No one is ever going to be 100% perfect all the time. You’re not going to agree with someone 100% of the time. As Rush says this is a LONG process (process is the key).

Reagan created alliances that helped usher him into the White House to make the changes and be the kind of president we could all admire. Running as a 3rd party candidate would do nothing but divide the votes and insure democrat leadership for longer. I don’t know if our country can stand up to much more assault. Should she decide to run and he not support her it will say more about his character than hers. If you don’t think that sometimes one has to dance with the devil, read the book of Job.

Are you saying that Fred endorsed McStain over Hayworth or he supported McStain in the presidential race?

Precisely what I said here at FR when her action was first made public.

And Scott Brown is in the same mode. And, suspicious as I am, McCain probably indebted Brown by supporting Scott for precisely this reason as he’s in the political fight of his life against J.D.

If you see Sarah Palin’s policies as the same as McPain, then by all means, she isn’t compromising on her Populist principles. Most people see Palin having little in common on ideology with McPain. If she can be so agreeable towards McPain, then whe’s worse than a Populist and another RINO in drag.

Hayworth has already said he’d support McCain.

Umm, this was an interesting ditty by Sarah. More people who even call her a RINO should read it.

That is entirely beside the point I was making about Sarah Palin.

That is the point of this thread. I suggest you re-read the title.

Is your higher principle to get rid of traitors by nominating a person of strong conservative principles like Palin, or is your higher goal to maintain your own version of political purity?

How can she be considered a person of higher Conservative principles when she was the VP running mate and now endorses the same person who you agree is not Conservative? How do you rationalize that contradiction in your head?

To get rid of Obama, we need to find and elect a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN.

To get rid of BO/BS we need to elect Conservatives.

Sarah Palin MAY be that person.

Her support of a socialist sympathizer over a Conservative clearly shows she is not that person.

“Personal endorsements usually have little if any effect on an election. And Rush’s opinion is just that.”

I agree with that. Still , I think Rush’s opinion is entitled to a little more weigh, and as a practical matter, it carries more weight than they average Joe. I don’t think Palin’s endorsement of McCain is a black mark at ll on her record for reasons I have stated and for those Rush has stated as well.

I think it is very arguable that Reagan’s selection in the leadup to the 1976 convention of Sen Richard Scweiker as his putative running mate was more of a black mark, given that Schweiker was far more liberal than McCain (ACU rating:5%) and Reagan’s gambit, had it succeeded, would have put a very liberal Republican a heartbeat away from the Presidency, not merely reelected someone to the Senate. Reagan had no moral obligation whatsoever to Schweiker and undertook this gambit to try to pry some delegates from the Northeast to wrest the nomination from Ford. Palin’s endorsement of McCain gets her no such putative advantage and is generated not by political calculus but by a sense of personal duty.

Reagan’s deal with Schweiker did not hurt him one bit in 1980, nor will Palin’s endorsement of McCain hurt her. People understand why she did it.

Believe me, I hear you. I know who Juan McCain is and I know exactly what he caracteristically does when the heat is off. You need only look at Cindy and Meghan to know what is discussed in that house. I know what’s going on. It’s just that Sarah ain’t playing that game. She is an honorable woman and I respect that. I view it like she’s paying off her campaign debt, and then I donate to JD.

Putting aside the issue of those claiming to be conservatives for a moment but are actively endorsing and supporting McCain while he is THE PROBLEM and not the solution for turning around the Republican party. To this voter they are just more of the same that has the party on its knees these days. And I for one have less respect and support for these alleged conservatives when they come out in support of the man who has and will still work to destroy this democracy we currently have. McCain is no friend of right-thinking conservatives.

Thank God a slight majority of posters on this thread are being reasonable.

I invite all you Sarah and Rush bashers to respond to the fact that Hayworth has declared his support for McCain, should McCain win.

C’mon, dare ya.

I don’t need the opinions of others to make up my mind on principles and compromise. McPain is the great compromiser on principle. I see Palin looking to endorse this and it totally disgusts me.

When Hoffman, a GENUINE CONSERVATIVE was running in NY. where was Palin to endorse HIM? No where to be found. That’s what Palin is all about. You can have her.

It’s Sarah’s opinion from her Facebook. If you’d take the time to read what she’s written.

Ah, you just hate Sarah that’s all.
