I did not know it was such a rare priviledge. I thought all the soldiers in the Old Guard took turns as guards.

My one and only visit to DC was in May, 1957(8?). Most of what I did and saw is now a blur, dimmed by the fog of the passage of time......except for the Tomb and the Guard. Whenever I think of that family trip, that is the image that comes to mind.
