I'm not sure that's a terrible thing. The parents would have to pay extra premiums, the "young immortals" would not likely buy the coverage.
That puts millions of healthy covered lives into the mix and expands the coverage pool...helps keep premiums down.
Dittos
we do not advance our agenda but reacting to the "sound" of something.
I remember well when my daughter was in grad school and was too old to be on our policy. We had to buy one through the university, and it really wasn't a very good policy. She's insured now through her work, but for a couple of years after she was married she had NO coverage and we paid her doctor bills.
This proposal may cover that gap, increase the number of healthy people in the pool, and give kids some time to get their own coverage.
All too often ‘letting’ turns into ‘mandating.’ One reason insurance costs are so high now is mandates in various states. For example, CA requires short term disability care for every policy, which is one reason they pay 60% more than other states. In CO, we mandate coverage until “children” are 21. One reason why CO insurance costs are high.
I just imagine a 20 something on drugs going in and out of rehabilitation, and the parents have to pay for it
Keeps premiums down and keeps coverage down too.
Take that pill, you have used enough health care, just die quickly.
