Carley, I agree with you. Beck is sowing the seeds of a third party by lumping the two parties together.

Sure we have our goofy and corrupt members, because we are all human beings, and the GOP gets bad apples from time to time. But corruption is not a hallmark of our party. Since 1968 we have been the ONLY party to stand up for smaller government, lower taxes, less spending, and a strong national defense. Some years we have done this better than others, but the GOP has been the one party who stood up for those things. (And I am not even getting into the social issues, for which we have been stalwarts as well.)

Beck's foolish or malicious (take your choice on motive) lumping of the two parties together encourages naive people to look to a third party, or to stay home and not vote. I resent that he does this, and I wish everyone would remember that he (by his own admission) JUST STARTED READING HISTORY and is only a radio and TV talk show host, not the font of all knowledge about government.

I have heard on Becks radio show several times that he does not encourage tea party candidates since he knows what that brings.

Beck is talking about Progressives — in both parties.. people like John McCain... and he is trying to educate people on what a progressive stands for that when McCain says “I’m a proud TR Republican” he is telling us what he stands for is not conservative principles... he is saying we have to weed out the progressives and IMHO he is right; that doesn’t mean voting for a third party — that would be a disaster — and even Beck keeps saying he votes GOP.. but is sick of what we keep electing... IMHO where he goes wrong is talking about playing around with 3rd parties, but then he is too young to remember Perot like many of us remember that period of our electorial history. As a student of history he has to see how they always benefit the democrats. But we are all at fault for the current mess. As long as our primaries continue to have a pathetic turn out and we keep returning the same tired candidates — like McCain, Graham, Hatch, Bennett, etc., to DC we get the same old tired politics as usual and the same old re-treads running for President.
