"scozzafava was anointed by the local republican 'leaders' - those people need to be thrown out - those are local leaders that can be thrown out - by the locals"

Absolutely right, but they have to be replaced by someone, who can spend a couple of nights a week at various meetings, making things happen. If you don't see yourself as one of those 'someones' how will this happen?

Politics is work.

On that, I agree. I'm doing something that I never thought I would be doing - getting physically involved. I've been going to monthly tea party meetings as well as a couple of other conservative group meetings when my schedule allows. A LOT of republicans are present, and they're starting to listen. I've been writing letters to the various politicians over the last several years, and I've attended a handful of city council meetings but I've stepped up the pace over the last 10 months or so.

I'm no politician, and I make no bones about it. I'm as apt to punch a liberal in the mouth as to debate him. But that doesn't mean I shouldn't be getting more connected with the activities that we need to do to take the party back from those psuedo-conservatives running the party.

I am one that thinks that Glen Beck is doing a tremendous job of motivating people. He is certainly one of the small handful of voices to which I pay attention. He has apparently angered some, but if that anger is directed in the right direction (hint - not back at Beck), it will help immensely.

I don't like the republican leadership, and I don't like more than half of the republicans involved at the national level right now. But some stand out as great people, and I will support those people. I've supported Jim DeMint and I am supporting Jim Kasich in Ohio, Marco Rubio in Florida, and JD Hayworth in Arizona. I can't vote for any of them, but I can send a few dollars to their campaigns. If a few conservatives beat RINO incumbents in the primary race, that will help immensely.
