And if our party is broken, people like you are to blame. Your kind of Obama-esque thuggery and bravado prevented a self-examination of our party in time to prevent the debacle in 2008.
I am not a member of the Republican Party. I am a registered conservative, like a lot of people here. We make no secret of the fact that we are trying to remold the party, to return it to the days of Reagan. You and your libertarian friends, who have abandoned the Libertarian Party because 99% of the adults in America reject some of your core beliefs, are welcome to try your hand at influencing the Republican Party as well. Where your views are not welcome is in the Conservative Party (or on conservative websites). Libertarians and Conservatives are in fundamental disagreement in several key issues.
If this simple concept is too difficult for you to understand, I'd just as soon not waste any further time. Libertarians suffer from an annoying disconnect with reality.
Grow some thicker skin.
The conventional approach would be to return your namecalling, and move on. But that’s the coward’s way out.
Instead, I’ll remind you for the 3rd or 4th time I am not a member of the Libertarian party, not have I ever been.
I find myself wondering if you’re even a Conservative. Democrats have used strategies to drive wedges between the groups which make up the Republican party in every election since 1996. They were particularly successful in 2008.
The focus of my recent messages on FR has to be remind people who the real enemies are. A factionalized Republican party will not be successful. This matters. This matters more than your petty beefs with libertarian-leaning Republicans.
With Obama as President, we’re to the point that every loss kills our nation a bit more. Some losses kill our nation a lot more. Health care would be one like that if it passes.
In this environment, being unwelcoming to those who almost completely agree with you is far from rational.
A reminder: My call for unity is not a call to support Arlen Spector type RINOs.
You accuse me of being a Democrat without justification. You say your qoal is the unification of the Republican Party. A worthy goal, but this is not a Republican Website. It is a conservative one. I shouldn't need to explain these facts to you several times, but you are either too stupid or to obstinant to accept the truth. If I were a Republican, I would welcome libertarians into the Republican Party for now. Recent national elections have all been close, and we can use their miniscule but still significant minority. Even if the libertarians are virtually all pro-abortion. Even if virtually all 911 truthers are libertarian. Even if virtually all white supremicists are libertarian. Even if ALL so-called right-wing terrorists are libartarian. Don't even try to argue with me on any of these points. And don't tell me that you are none (or only a couple) of these things, so that makes all libartarians OK. And don't tell me that it doesn't matter that the clown car media uses these small minorties to discredit the entire Republican cause. It does. Elections are won in the center, using people who pay almost no regular attention to politics.
Getting back to my point, I and the people of this website are Conservatives, not Republicans. We are attempting to influence Republican Politics with our own causes and philosphies. We are in fundamental disagreement with the libartarian movement on many key issues. Libertarians are welcome to try to influence Republicans in their own way, or one their own website, but let me be very clear about this: You are not Conservatives, and you don't belong here.
Yah! We need someone like George Bush to control these borders!!
Go team!
