Jeb Bush On Sarah Palin: 'I Don't Know What Her Deal Is.'
Toby Harnden February 24th, 2010
Some breathtakingly candid comments from Jeb Bush who could surely be one of the strongest GOP candidates in 2012 should he wish to run about Sarah Palin. They come 18 minutes and 39 seconds into this fascinating Newsmax interview with the former Florida governor.
Bush praises her charisma but then says that she needs to add to this some depth of understanding of the complexity of life. She has an innate ability to communicate and connect with folks but seems to feel that thats pretty much it. If she could build on that with, er, understanding of and insight into the world then she could be an incredible candidate.
To put it mildly, thats rather faint praise.
Bush then delivers what amounts to a devastating critique of Palin: I dont know what her deal is. My belief is in 2010 and 2012 public leaders need to have intellectual curiosity. The world is really an amazing place but it is very complex, it is very fast moving. If you think youve got it all figured out, the minute you start thinking that is the first day of your demise.
Just in case Bush thinks hes stopped talking about Palin, he adds: So if she has those skills and she wants to run then shell be a great candidate.
It is hard to dispute that Bush is right on both counts. Palin clearly possesses a rare and natural political talent. But thus far she has displayed very little willingness to build on this by studying the world and coming up with some intelligent conclusions or questions about it.

Patronized by another wishful rival!
“I dont know what her deal is?” Rude
Jeb, read my lips.....NO MORE BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jeb Bush can hang em up. There won’t be another Bush in the White House. He would have been a better president than W but it’s over for the Bush family. Insulting Sarah won’t get him there either.
No more Bushes!
And any advice from Bush is bad news anyway,
Jeb Bush. Concern Troll.
..hence the difference between an establishment political family and an average American who may be found seated in the Oval Office in few years--the Bush family will probably never see the Presidency again...

“But thus far she has displayed very little willingness to build on this by studying the world and coming up with some intelligent conclusions or questions about it.”
Translation: She instinctively rejects our “Progressive Agenda” and we doubt we’d be happy with her.
I can’t get to the article..but all I can say just now, if this is verified..what a profoundly stupid statement.
You have to hand it to the Bushes: when it comes to a pampered chickenshit elitist easterner who always had mommie 'Bar' to cut his own meat for him, he sure can dish it out to a self-made frontier woman.
I lived through two of these assholes. Spare me anymore of them..
One thing the commie ‘RATS have going for them, we’re having a blast stabbing each other in the back over here on the right. The ‘RATS don’t have to smear at shoot arrows at us. We’re already doing that to each other.
I couldn't agree more! I don't think much of Palin either,.
We win, They lose.
No more Bushes!
No. Back away now from this hubris. I really liked GW, and still do, but just don't think the country is ready for any more Bushes as president.
