No, they will bend around obstacles. Think of a rock in a pond, it creates a ring right, so it expands in a arc. When it comes upon shallow water it rises up, the water has to go somewhere. As it “hits” land the wave around that land slows down, making the wave appear to bend, and then it reflects back off of the land shelf. Think of a pylon in a pond, that wave hits the pylon, wraps around and reflects back off of it all at the same time.
Also not known if already posted, possible Tsunamie times on the west coast from California to Alaska.

EWA BEACH, Hawaii Hawaii braced Saturday for a potentially damaging tsunami, after a massive earthquake off Chile sent waves across the Pacific Ocean.The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning its highest alert for Hawaii, where incoming waves could cause damage along the coastlines across the island chain. A warning was also in effect for Guam, American Samoa and dozens of other Pacific islands.
The first waves were expected to arrive in Hawaii at 11:19 a.m. Saturday (4:19 p.m. EST).
A lower-grade tsunami advisory was in effect for the coast of California and an Alaskan coastal area from Kodiak to Attu islands. Authorities in Australia did not issue a warning, but asked residents to stay away from the coast.

Good grief, I'd say the warning has already been "sounded"...
To give you an idea...go to youtube and search 1960 Chile Tsunami...one of the links is a simulation showing wave travel from that earthquake.

The ground actually looked like it became a body of water with swells going through it, most amazing thing I've ever seen.

The Tsunami warning sirens will go off in about 50 minutes from now at 6am HST, the expected first waves will be just after 11am HST.
