As warming skeptics gloat, the Earth gets hotter

This drives me nuts.
A recent British opinion poll found only one-quarter of respondents believe human activities are causing climate change down 16 percentage points since November.
"Guess what?" crows a U.K. blogger who calls himself Steve Green. "Man-made climate change skeptics are now in the majority! So the science is not exactly settled after all is it?"
By the same logic, I suppose, he'd conclude that if a majority told pollsters the sun circles Earth, centuries of astronomy would be cast into doubt.
The fact that polls reveal diminishing concern doesn't mean there's less reason for concern.
If it were just Green or a handful of his ilk spinning their trash, it wouldn't matter. But there are many, on the Internet and in mainstream media, who similarly confuse opinion with fact and free expression with reality.
Their efforts are contributing to what an increasing number of commentators are happily calling the collapse of the climate change movement.

After decades of attending the Church of Glowbull Warming, true believers may never see the light. Schools have been preaching Al Gore's lies for decades.

So true. They should change Punxatawny Phil to Al Gore. If Al Gore pokes his head out, you know it will be warmer soon. If it’s freezing in July, Al Gore will conveniently be hiding for fear of his lies being exposed.

New Reports Show Global Cooling Trend
Originally printed at http://www.nbcaugusta.com/weather/news/16011587.html
New scientific studies suggest a trend that may have started in the late 1990s. The earth may be cooling.
The Hadley Centre for Climate Change, part of the UK Met Office, tracks global temperature and shows a big drop in global temperature anomalies since January 2007. Based on the HadCRUT3 system of observed temperatures, global surface temperature anomalies have been trending down since 2001. January 2008 had the coldest anomaly since 1995.
Temperature anomaly is the difference between observed temperature and the average temperature for the same time over a period of years.
Meteorologist Anthony Watts compiled the HadCRUT3 temperature grids to make this intriguing plot of trends since 1988. Note the large drop in global temperature anomaly over the past year
Closer to home, Dr John Christy of the University of Alabama, Huntsville, uses NASA data to track global temperatures. His latest report suggests that compared to seasonal norms, January 2008 was the coldest month since July 2006 and the coldest January since 2000.
Anecdotal evidence of the cooling trend is noted by record season snowfall totals and low temperatures over large portions of the northern Hemisphere. Please visit the NOAA Climate website for more information.

Good investigating!
Looks like he’s an independent contractor now. Normally I would feel sympathy for someone who loses their job, but not someone responsible for writing lunacy like this:

When we have them looking for Manmade Global Warming under a rock, we’ll have them. Just kick the rock over and let them make one with the critters.

Environment Columnist? Methinks their on-staff Communist Propaganda Columnist (oops, I mean "Environment Columnist") might be a bit worried about his job now that the big government gravy train for AGW looks like it's rolling to a stop.

The point is assuming there is global warming, it has NOT been shown to be man caused, period and end of that argument. Maybe we can convince the believers that instead of reducing carbon in the atmosphere, we should fire ice rockets into the sun to cool it down or perhaps increase the mean orbit distance from the sun about half a million miles. In fact, maybe if we all thought about moving the earth hard enough, we could actually do it telekenetically.

A cheerleader speaks:
“Climate science is a huge, complex body of observation and computer models. It deals more in probabilities than absolutes and can’t help but contain occasional errors. That makes it ripe for attack, and especially vulnerable since, I suspect, most people prefer a story that lets them carry on as usual.”
This is as close as they get to an apology, unfortunately their ilk has simplified the message and way before today’s conclusions about the methodology or ideology of the modellers.
The very fact that they’re now in overdrive, spewing out a new dire report weekly is their refusal to stop and reconsider if a rush to overhaul the world’s economies is worth it.
This week’s two major earthquakes are true catastrophies while all of theirs are future possibilities; had we already commited the world’s resources to developing alternative energy sources there would be no way to mitigate the damage done just this week from something never to be under man’s control.
A major winter storm is bearing down on France, Portugal and Spain this week containing 100mph+ winds and torrential rains, the people have been warned, earthquakes give no warning.
Will there be another such storm next winter?
Certainly, what isn’t known is the intensity.
Another killer earthquake?
Your guess is as good as mine — or anyone elses.

Wouldn't a more productive use of our combined telekenesis be to transport all liberals to Cuba, North Korea or perhaps Mars?

Telekenetic credits? Yes, that's the ticket.

My email to him.....
Sir,
If you would actually take the time to listen to the scientists instead of the scientific shills with a political agenda, you would easily see and understand that Anthropagenic Global Warming is a hoax. THe earth warms and cools naturally in cycles.
The data WAS cooked. The “science” is a sham.
It is often said that you should never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel.
Conversely, those who buy ink by the barrel are able to prove themselves fools thousands of times over.

"I suppose, he'd conclude that if a majority told pollsters the sun circles Earth, centuries of astronomy would be cast into doubt."Back when that controversy raged the people who said the science was settled that the sun circles the Earth were just as wrong and even more nasty than the global warmers (but only because they could be).
