Ranking Republican leaders (WaPO rates Romney as #1)
WaPO ^ | February 26, 2010 | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 03/01/2010 4:38:24 PM PST by yongin

1. Mitt Romney: Romney gave a command performance at CPAC -- delivering a solid speech aimed at establishing himself as the de facto leader of the party and offering a detailed critique of the Obama Administration and its policies. And, his decision to put Matt Rhoades, communications director of his 2008 presidential bid, in charge of his Free and Strong America PAC was a savvy move that won him kudos among party insiders. Romney appears far more at ease in this race than he did in 2008; he knows who he is and what he can (and can't) do -- a very important quality in politics. (Previous ranking: 3)

It sure is and I am sick of the RINOS trying to be our leaders. They have already proven they do not have our best interests at heart.

He is not my leader.

Hmmmmm.... that wont make certain individuals around here very happy. I’ve always liked Romney, and figured he was more of a strict constuctionist than being from Mass. would allow. At least he’s a competent businessman, unlike the morons currently in charge of the nations finances.

They ranked Rudy McRomney as the top three last time. And the GOP rank and file idiots fell for it.

If the Repubs choose a democrat lite, I guess I can just use that voting day to do something else.

I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER MCKENNEDY.

I want a conservative with cojones, brains, and a sense of purpose.

Romney fails in all three areas.

No word on what the people think.

But for me, it’s not Romney and his Mass-Care boondoggle.

One of Romney’s big problems is RomneyCare. I don’t think he has a snowballs chance of getting elected, without sneaky underhanded tricks in the primaries.

Romney is beginning his book tour.

Tommorrow Romney will be on the View, Hannity, and David Letterman. Mittens will be on Fox News Sunday.

I’ve always liked Romney

Did you liked him when he ran to the left of Ted Kennedy in 1994?

One line in his estimation of Palin says it all:

“But, Palin lacks real influence within the Republican establishment — she probably likes it that way — that makes it difficult to rank her any higher.”

Not only does she like it that way, so do conservatives. The Establishment can take a long walk off a short pier.

The only reason Romney is #1 is because he was able to blow his own money to be the #2 in 2008. As most freepers know, his 2nd place was way behing McCain. The Wash Compost has probably noticed how the GOP seems to have some written in stone succession rules of electing the guy who is the #2 from the previous election.
