Islamic groups moving forward on their own probe of FBI incident here

DEARBORN — The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says it will conduct its own forensic investigation into the Oct. 28 shooting death of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah during an FBI raid on a Dearborn warehouse.

The FBI says agents were trying to arrest Abdullah in a sting operation involving stolen goods when he resisted and fired a gun. An autopsy report released last month said he was shot 21 times.

“On the surface, someone being shot 21 times raises quite a few questions,” said U.S. Rep John Conyers (D-Detroit).

Conyers had previously sought an independent investigation into the shooting, and recently joined the 14th Congressional Democratic Party, CAIR-MI and the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners in calling for “objective scrutiny into the protocols and conduct of the multi-jurisdictional law enforcement task force on the day of the cleric’s death.”

Although Abdullah was not shot in the head, he suffered cuts and abrasions on his face. Several lacerations were also found on his hands, although Wayne County Medical Examiner Carl Schmidt said he could not confirm whether the wounds were caused by the FBI dog he allegedly killed.

“There was no distinct pattern left as when you have a good imprint of a dog, that doesn’t mean that some of his lacerations could not have been do to a dog,” Schmidt said.

Yet another "innocent" muslim cleric.
Condolences for the dog.

Arab League chief urges closer ties with Iran

The push to engage Tehran seems to be at least partly fueled by Arab frustration over Washington's failure to get Israel to back down on plans for more Jewish settlements on land the Palestinians want for a future state.

It also suggests that Arab nations are increasingly less likely to align with the U.S. strategy on Iran if they feel they are getting nothing in return in Mideast peace efforts.

The summit registered a higher than usual number of no-shows from Arab leaders. Eight heads of state stayed away, including Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.

On Saturday, Al-Jazeera television broadcast an audio clip purportedly from a former top deputy of Saddam Hussein calling on Arab leaders to recognize insurgents in Iraq as the sole legitimate representatives of the Iraqi people and saying they should represent Iraq at the summit instead of the current Iraqi government.

Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, whose whereabouts are unknown, is believed to play an important role in financing Sunni insurgents in Iraq and has a $10 million bounty on his head.

The recording came two days after Iraq's foreign minister briefly walked out of the Arab League summit in protest after Libya hosted a group of Saddam loyalists before the meeting.

Arabs cannot even agree with one another. The power struggle continues.

Sunni leader killed in Baghdad

Baghdad authorities say a Sunni leader was killed by a sniper today.

Police and hospital officials say just last night the man was celebrating former Prime Minster Ayad Allawi's (EE'-yahd ah-LAH'-weez) parliamentary election victory by passing out candy to well-wishers.

The murder could be a sign that Iraq's elections have stirred up sectarian tensions.

Death toll in twin bombings in Iraq rises to 57

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi police say the casualty toll in twin bombings near a restaurant north of Baghdad has risen to 57 killed and 73 wounded.

Friday evening's attack took place in a busy area in the town of Khalis, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of Baghdad. A car bomb exploded outside the restaurant at about 6:30 p.m. and was followed within minutes by a roadside bomb just a few steps away.

And so the thugs aren’t even showing up for the summits...what’s with that? Doesn’t give me a warm feeling...what are they up to?

You and I and others know full well the muslims are setting up their own country inside our country...with their own laws, lifestyle etc. This exempting them from our insurance we have to pay is just another step...and building their own hospitals and clinics...won’t that be handing when the time comes! I am so pis*ed!
