John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, is seriously considering stepping down from the nation’s highest court for personal reasons, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.

Roberts, known for his conservative judicial philosophy, has served on the Supreme Court since 2005, having been nominated by President George W. Bush after the death of former Chief William Rehnquist.

RadarOnline.com has been told that Roberts, 55, could announce his decision at any time.

The decision paves the way for President Barack Obama to make his second appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court following his first, Sonia Sotomayor.

Why are we surprised? This is typical for the Chicago Machine. Soros has something on him.

But that’s ok with all the FReepers who are happily skipping through the tulips thinking a newspaper announcement makes him eligible. Wake up and smell the blackmail.

Some of the justices remind me of Strom and Byrd. They’ll be carried in on a gurney hooked to an IV before they retire.

When does the Reichtag (sp) occur?

It’s 1933 Germany all over again. If you haven’t watched “Hitler’s Bodyguard” on Discovery (I think) then you should. The parallels are amazing!

At first glance, I’d assume this has something to do with the (epileptic?) seizure Roberts suffered a few years ago. If true, this is monumentally bad news for the nation. Roberts’ health should have been thoroughly vetted by the Bush people, and Roberts himself should have considered his health outlook carefully before accepting the nomination.

Roosevelt (FDR) was prevented from dragging the country into socialism by the Supreme Court which he attempted to pack with his own cronies. I have always been concerned with the safety of the Supremes. They are the only thing that stands in the way of tyranny.

Either the final nail in our coffin, or the first nail in our trebuchet. Is the glass half empty or half full?

This CANNOT happen! Even if he’s very sick, a “Weekend at Bernie’s” scenario must occur, lest 0bama appoint someone like Van Jones or some other communist to that post.

God help us!

Nor can I. The word “devastating” doesn't even come close to describing what this would mean.

OMG. This would be an unmitigated disaster!

Please, Dear Lord give the Chief Justice the strength to persevere until we get a Republican President. Amen!

It may turn out to be untrue, but too many rumors have truth behind them somewhere. I don’t like the sound of this, regardless of any reason why Roberts would consider it.

RadarOnline... exclusively... sounds like pulled out of a liberal’s arse.

LOL! I do recall Justice Roberts suffered a seizure incident within the past year or two.

While it would certainly be devastating, I will wait for convincing corroboration before getting upset.

I just spoke with the Public Information Office of the SCOTUS. They have no information or this—would not confirm or deny.

There will be a Reichstag fire, but I haven’t yet figured out who will play the role of the Jews (singled out and blamed for the fire by Hitler to stir up popular resentment).

Jews were a minority in Germany, but the group Obama loves to hate, European-descended white Christians are the majority here. In fact, black, Latin American and Asian descended Christians are also in his cross-hairs, so maybe it’s Christians in general he hates. But I think it would be hard to get enough feeling going against what is essentially the majority group.
