He was a ‘no’ on health care. Pelosi and The Machine pressured him, but he wouldn’t budge.
So...yesterday’s leak about the Ethics investigation. I’d bet there are some really salacious charges out there. Pelosi only leaked hints at milder stuff. Then she leaned on him again. He announced his retirement, but still planned to vote no.
So Pelosi told him the really bad stuff would be coming out unless he resigned immediately. Plus, it’s a shot across the bow of any other wavering Dems. Think of it as a dead fish on the door step.
And Pelosi is back down to only needing 216 votes.
Oh. I also wonder how much that “complainant” will be worth before this is all over.
Massa collected $1,067,921 for this year’s campaign, and disbursed $436,109, and has $643,973 cash on hand (as of 12/31/2009).
He can donate it back to the Democratic committees, but after they outed him, it will probably be a long time before he sends it back, if at all.
In any case, that’s got to hurt the Dems at least a bit.

Resign and the Ethics investigation goes away, you don't have to vote yes, your Campaign funds remain intact, and I have one less vote to find for Health Care.
Rangel loses his committee chairmanship and Massa resigns. The Dummiecrats are dropping like flies! I can’t wait for November!

How do you know? He may have been one of those Dems in a shaky seat that Pelosi allowed to vote NO, but from whom she wants a YES now.

Sorry, but any Democrat can be bribed into voting for 0bamacare. There’s no reason to believe that when push came to shove, that this and every other wavering Democrat would vote yes for 0bamacare, after all, it would assure a permanent liberal majority running our government.
This SOB was a member of the Congressional “Progressive” Caucas yet the filthy propagandists in the socialist media are trying to paint him as a conservative!
