Yeah, there’s a lotta Scots-Irish blood in the South, and lots of Southerners on Free Republic.
I do think there’s some kind of connection to rationality and Scots blood. I once worked on a large project in the south of England, and the Scots were the most no-nonsense, hardest working, problem-solving bunch on the crew (besides us Yanks, of course!).
