Oh please. Its this slack cutting thing that disturbs me. Did you cut the RINO Romney slack for backing Mc
Cain?

This is my problem. Your eyes are wide shut. I actually like the woman Palin, but her political tactics lately are disturbing.

She needs to be taking on serious issues and building a serious conservative candidacy. You don’t do that by backing McCain and doing Jay Lenos monologue. Even though she was quite good at it.

If Palin is also tired of the McCain tactics, she would be more agreeable to you if she wasn’t out there trying to get this POS reelected. Yes?

I say:

Sarah Palin has earned some slack. She has been commenting substantively on a number of current political issues and HAS HELPED MAKE A DIFFERENCE ON THEM ALREADY AS A PRIVATE CITIZEN! She has been fighting for and taking hits for the cause and is currently positioning herself well for 2012. She is the only national figure of any note that is consistently saying things I agree with.

No I don’t like her supporting McCain, but think about the alternative. The last thing she would need for 2012 is for McCain to start unloading on her or being bashed in general for being unloyal. If she did win and he is still around, he now owes her and may be more amenable to stay on the reservation this time, unlike after 2000 with President Bush.

J.D. Hayworth gets it. He is responding perfectly. He knows he is trying to tap into the same current that Sarah is riding. By being gracious about it, he has in my opinion pretty much neutralized the effect of her support for John McCain.

Thus, my prediction remains: If McCain loses despite Sarah Palin’s support, there will be many who say that this is proof of the end or the limit of her power and influence. But in fact it will show just how powerful she really can be, because at the end of the day, her supporters who were strong enough to knock of McCain are still going to be there for her and more importantly, for her policies.

That is my take on this election. Time will tell.
