For every voter who strongly favors the plan, two are strongly opposed.

One of the more amazing aspects of the health-care debate is how steady public opinion has remained. Despite repeated and intense sales efforts by the president and his allies in Congress, most Americans consistently oppose the plan that has become the centerpiece of this legislative season.

The fact is it does not matter what the Polls say, what the American People say at Town Halls, Marches on Washington etc. It is going to Pass because the Communists are running the Democrat party and they have the Votes and they will make ANY deal Make any Payoff to get it passed . They are still making payoffs behind closed doors,Sorry folks but if you think Stupak or any other Democrat is going to stop this you are more Naive than Obama voters. There are No patriots in Washington ,How many times have you heard during this entire debate over a Year ANY representative say this Bill is AntiAmerican ,that the FoundingFathers would be turning over in their Graves if they saw this type of government take over of are entire lives. NONE it has been all about how Much is it going to cost ,Does it allow Abortion,etc.etc.nothing about his is UNCONSTITUTIONAL PERIOD! HOW much did it cost for you to sell the Greatest Experiment in Human Freedom Down the River ,we are living through History making events all right ,The end of what Most of us Love, The United States Of America

I agree with most of what you said. That last line will only happen if we allow it.

When in Human History have you seen where the Communist Party gives a Rats Ass what the people think. Dont be Naive like Obama Voters folks, ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES. We have a Communist Media Machine which has Mastered the art Of Propoganda,if you doubt it just look at who occupies the Oval Office,if you think when the Health Care bill passes the Democrats will be Voted out? Think again of the Onslaught of Propganda for 6 months about the Greatest Achievment of any American President and it Took a Big Hearted African American to make this Monumental step in The Caring for the Down trodden ,America has Finally realized what the Founding Fathers had always intended equality,a New Morning In Americas Great Journey and In only his First year, we Can Look for More Great accomplishments from President Obama

Why Obama Can't Move the Health-Care Numbers

Because WE DON'T WANT IT.

WE DON'T WANT SOCIALISM.

WE DON'T WANT OBAMA.

Well it’s an interesting problem. First is tort reform. Second would be interstate competition between insurance companies would naturally lower the price.

Pre-existing conditions are hard because we can’t have people waiting to get sick and then signing up for what at that point wouldn’t really be “insurance”. The only way I can see around this is to force everyone to always have insurance and that’s illegal - or should be. I’ve thought a national major medical only pool for those who don’t have and/or can’t get regular policies would be an answer. Seems to me if one signs up for this the cost should come out of paychecks, or tax refunds or welfare payments...anything the govt could do to make sure the premiums are collected. Although how can we trust them to not screw it up?

What I see as big problems are illegals and those who would rather have fancy cell phones etc. than actually pay for their own health care and now are whining that they want us to do it. More honest people would at least buy into the national pool I mentioned above.

“..the first time today it occurred to me that there might be riots over this healthcare nonsense.”

The answer to Obamacare passing (it won't) is just that- massive civil disobedience. Millions need to take to the streets, stage general strikes, organize mass burning of healthcare registration cards, refuse to file income tax, storm local Congressional offices, etc.

If this passes, I won’t be surprised to see the USSC overturn it (especially since public opinion is on their side). The bill is unconstitutional. You cannot force people to buy health insurance by threat of penalty and imprisonment.

Agreed on pre-existing conditions. That is just like getting car insurance after you have already gotten into an accident. But could health insurance contracts be written in such a way as to preclude this from happening?

Like an 'anti-grace' period when you start your coverage and paying premiums and you start using the more costly provisions. Maybe a health insurance contract that first starts as covering you in preventative care, and then after a 6 month or 1 year period, the company can invite you to their full coverage plan.

Maybe its time to rethink the whole concept. Is it reasonable to cover everyone, regardless of their ability to pay? You mentioned illegals/deadbeats, how do we eliminate the incentive for these kinds of people?

Actually, what you’re suggesting sounds like some dental plans I’ve heard of.

Hmmmm...

Most illegals/deadbeats have SOME source of income - their assigned risk coverge ought to come out of whatever that is...of course, easier said than done, especially with the politicians using wearing your sister’s dentures as an excuse to wreck the insurance for millions and millions of us.
