Aiona is great, but I’m afraid Hawaii is still pretty much a Democrats state. IMO, Hannemman is more difficult to beat, because if he’s the nominee then all pacific islanders (and some Hawaiians) will vote for him. Also, compare to English Professor Abercrombie, Hannemman is not that liberal that makes some in the middle at least are not afraid of him. Aiona was household name when he was still a judge, but for some reasons, Lingle didn’t really give him much opportunities to make him popular.

Duke has been too quiet as LT Gov to get much traction. He is a Republican, after all, and this is Hawaii we are talking about.

IMO, Hanneman will get the race vote but the old commie Abercrombie is still very popular. BTW, calling Neil an english professor is a stretch. He has been in elected office at the state and national level for more than thirty years and there is no mention of his professorship in his bio (Although it does mention his Phd)
