Washington (CNN) -- House Democratic leaders hoping to pass a health care reform bill by the Easter congressional recess face increasingly difficult odds, as several of the party's rank-and-file have come out against the plan passed by the Senate in December.
According to an ongoing CNN survey, 17 House Democrats indicate that they would vote no on the Senate plan as currently written, including six members who voted in favor of the House bill passed in November.
Several of these representatives indicated that they would consider voting for the Senate bill if it were significantly modified. However, the lack of support among these members for the underlying plan passed by the Senate on Christmas Eve illustrates the challenge party leaders face in winning over enough votes to pass what has become the Obama administration's signature legislative priority.
Some members made clear that their votes are not negotiable.

Sounds like the media spin is going out to try and lull/settle down the voters for when Congress goes out on Easter recess.
About all I’ve hard and read today in the media is about how the bill is unlikely to pass, while we all know they are scheming behind closed doors, and have even crafted a plan to pass the dammed thing without even voting on it!
Issue fatigue-for real. It seems to say a lot about how much the left has invested in this one policy that they won’t let it be buried when it’s dead. Not to mention Hussein’s ego.
We should not become complacent because of this story. Of the 39 democrats who voted no in November, 26 have still not indicated whether they will continue to vote no, according to the results presented in this story.
In an odd sort of way, I’m glad to see Nancy, Harry and Barry tying themselves in knots trying to put enough chocolate on this heaping pile of excrement to make it palatable to the non-wingnut part of their party. In doing so, it is possibly keeping them from attempting to foist even MORE far-left nonsense on this great nation.
With any luck, this charade will drag on into the summer, by which time most of Washington will be vacated as the Congress-critters go home to save their phony-baloney jobs.
17 House Dems is not enough to block the bill. The WH, Pelose, and Reid are doing EVERYTHING they can right now to get this thing passed by Easter and CNN is compliant.
BEWARE!!!!
If they had the votes...why were they trying to do that damn scheme of not actually voting for it...in other words cheating...then the Massa ordeal...Im just saying. All the dems are voting to having Pelosi and other leaders investigated. They want Commie care gone. IMHO. But my guard is still up.
They have to vote on it!
House Democrats face political extermination on health care.
Fixed it!
Yeah but if they do pass this one, it’s a big one, not just in terms of statistics (1/6 of the economy, etc), but in terms of a governmental shift comparable to nothing in American history—truly a socialist takeover by this fascist government.
I think they will pull another dirty deal. Many of the no votes of the Dems will flip, certainly enough to pass the bill but the real negotiations are who crosses over for what favor or kickback.
The thing we have to remember is Democrats are fundamentally liars at heart. They are totally willing to vote for the bill because they have no morals or ethics, but they are extremely selfish and want sweet deals if they are going to be the ones that can be proven to be corrupt by going on the record with their vote.
Especially since some of them were probably given a pass the first time around.
This crap is all over the ball park depending on which LSM you are reading. Keep the calls going.

Code Red - House Target List on Health Care
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obamas announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the fixer bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.
