EDITORIAL: Obama surrenders gulf oil to Moscow
The Washington Times ^ | March 18, 2010

While the United States attempts to shift gears to alternative fuels to battle the purported evils of carbon emissions, Russia will erect oil derricks off the Cuban coast.

Offshore oil production makes economic sense. It creates jobs and helps fulfill America's vast energy needs. It contributes to the gross domestic product and does not increase the trade deficit. Higher oil supply helps keep a lid on rising prices, and greater American production gives the United States more influence over the global market.

It’s not the drilling that’s in question here. It’s who drills. They don’t want anything that is good for our country.

Oh, but don’t you understand? As long as the oil rigs aren’t visible from the US and therefore don’t impact our view of the scenery, things are just peachy and no one will do anything about them. /s off ... sorta

In short we won’t if he does. That is not a threat but a 1st Amendment opinion.

So that begs the question... why make policy if down the road it is ignored?

Is America’s ‘word’ so situational?

This just keeps getting worse. How on Earth can anyone with a sane mind consider allowing this off our coast? May God have mercy on his soul because the American people who love this country will not.

Each and every single thing he has done is to provoke and belittle people in this country. That’s the only reason.

Back when Monroe was around America’s word was good. After FDR became President, it began to go downhill a bit... With Hussein, everything is a lie.

America’s word needs to be restored big time.
