Who Will Be The Hero Democrat That Saves America From Obamacare?
Me | 3-19-10 | TCRLAF

A serious question for all.

Who will be the Democratic Party hero that saves America from the nightmare of Obama's "Healthcare" Reform, and it's massive taxes??

And will we have the foresight to congratulate, and offer support for, this brave person, who dares to stand up against Obama, the Congressional leadership, and more importantly, the goons of the SEIU and the leftist Nutroots Crazies?

Are there enough PATRIOTS left in the Democratic Party to stop this nightmare?

So many of them are coming off of the fence now apparently because no one wants to be the Margolies-Mezvinsky who is the decideing vote. That is a sign that there wil be no hero vote.

I don’t know who it will be, but if it could be true we should promise as a country to celebrate and support him/her like we Scott Brown in MA. We should be promising them reward for taking the stand, to offset their financial loss when they lose their base. Across the nation, 3/4 Americans sending $10 to the one who stands up... can you imagine??

Political wisdom is that, if it fails it misses by 5-10 votes.

FWIW, that’s how bad they lose IMHO.

I’ve had similar thoughts...hoping that one or more patriotic Dems will have that “Come to Jesus” moment just before they cast their vote, and say, “you know what, I just can’t do this”.

It happens in the movies. But when have we seen such courage in real life?

Now this is real crazy talk, but I’ve even thought Obama himself could just come out and say “Look, I want a win, but not this way - let’s start over”. His personal popularity would probably jump to 80% if he did this, but even in my wildest dreams I cannot see him actually doing it.

If it fails, and they do have to start over, do you think obama will take the credit?

“Are there enough PATRIOTS left in the Democratic Party to stop this nightmare?”

No. WE are witnessing mass psychosis in our government. NPD plus. I guess there were people in 1930’s Germany who wondered WTH would stop Hitler, too. Then one day they woke up and found out he invaded Poland. But after all, he was only doing what he thought was the best thing for his nation. So did Stalin. So Did Mao. So did Saddam Hussein. With plenty of supporters.

And too damn few “republican patriots”, too, who let it get this far in the interest of reaching across the aisle and being part of a gentleman's club

One hopes. For that reason, serious consideration should be given to granting amnesty in the Fall elections to any person who prefers to be a democrat and not a DEEM-ocrat, and who is not otherwise a raving, flaming hard-core leftist. Rep. Altmire from PA comes to mind - he has, in general, been to the right of the DEEM-ocrats, and now that he has pledged to vote "no" on this abomination, he should be given some consideration.

No doubt this will be a particularly unpopular opinion - and I can full-well understand that, I have several times wished to grab a baseball bat and go looking for any DEEM-ocrat I could lay my hands on - nonetheless, even with our anger and motivation, our resources for this Fall are not unlimited, and the enemy will have the resources of the world's most heinous individuals, such as George Soros, at its disposal, so it would be wise to reserve as many of our resources as possible to defeat the true fascists in the Congress, the hard-core leftists/liberals who would rather kill off this country than vote against Obastardcare.

It won’t be any one person, but the most credit is probably due to the Stupak bloc. Hopefully, this will be a redemptive moment for them if they hold together as if they didn’t come up with that amendment in the first place before the House bill was passed and just plain voted no on the House bill, the whole thing would have been dead or at least back to the drawing board months ago.

They enabled Pelosi and the Senate Democrats and then got thrown under the bus.

Bill and Hill play things real close to the vest. If defeat of Obamacare really spells the end of Obama’s presidency, then I suspect they just can’t help themselves from doing something to make that happen.

Don’t just blame the Democrats for this nightmare — I have not seen any Republican congressman trying to push Obama’s eligibility issue which could possibly have stopped this insanity. It is only this late in the game that some congressmen have shown integrity and courage.

We will know if they postpone the vote after their mandatory meeting with Obama

I'm not sure what Republicans your talking about? The elected ones don't have the votes to stop anything. I was with your post until the last statement. What exactly are you proposing that they do?
