Update 3-20, 8:55 AM: As I predicted last night, prospects for a Stupak deal appear to be collapsing. I’m putting the word “death” back in the thread title — shame on me for taking it out.
Update 3-20, 8:00 AM: Stupak was right. Back on Wednesday, he told The Hill in an interview:
“They’ll call me the night before and say, ‘Hey, we’ve got to work this out. We don’t have the votes,’” he said. “Then we get serious.”

Stupak is the Dems “fly in the ointment.” Unless Pelosi decided to compromise and meet the demands of Stupak last night, his press conference will be about why he is voting “NO” and what the Democrats can do to get him to “YES.”
Stupak will be the American people’s hero at the end of this.

I saw Tom DeLay. Said we need four more no votes to kill the bill. I’m praying so hard that we get the votes we need. Surely there are more Congressmen who will not take a bribe like my Congressman (Bart Gordon) did. We all need to pray hard.

I just spoke to someone in Ellsworth’s office for almost 15 min. Very nice man, and patient with me. (ha) Ellsworth decided to vote YES “for the children.” He said he honestly believed that nothing would change for me if this passes. Riiiiight.
