A 16-year-old girl and her 15-year-old friend suffered grave injuries when a knife-wielding woman jumped out of a car and stabbed them on a Brooklyn street Friday afternoon, according to a published report.
The two girls had been hanging out on Franklin Avenue in Crown Heights at about 5 p.m. when a car drove up and a woman and man, whom witnesses identified respectively as "Corona" and "Darnell," leapt out and went after them. Witnesses told the Daily News that the man pinned the girls to the ground while the woman repeatedly sliced the 16-year-old's face and thrust the knife once into the 15-year-old.
The girls managed to get away and race a few blocks to one of their homes, where the older teen slumped onto the doorstep, her grandmother told the News. Both teens were taken to the hospital and are expected to be OK. The alleged attackers drove off after the assault and cops still haven't found them.
It wasn't immediately clear why the duo went after the teens, but Cheryl Evans, the grandmother of the 16-year-old victim, told the News it may have had to do with a past argument between the knife-wielding woman and the victim's cousin.
