House Sends Health Care Bill To Obama's Desk President to sign reforms into law; 'fixes' still require House, Senate action
BREAKING
WASHINGTON - After well over a year of negotiations, setbacks, and political wrangling, the House has approved President Barack Obama’s top domestic policy initiative, sending a bill to massively overhaul the nation’s health insurance system to his desk to be signed and enacted into law.
The climactic chapter in a century-long quest for near universal coverage concludes with the House's 219-212 approval of a bill to extend coverage to 32 million Americans who lack it, ban insurers from denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions and cut deficits by an estimated $138 billion over a decade.
Republicans voted unanimously against the bill, which they say constitutes a government takeover of the health care system, financed by a trillion dollars in higher taxes and Medicare cuts combined.

The bill will hit Obama’s desk, right next to his copy of “Rule for Radicals”.

No way, no how will the donks lose control of Congress in November. The worst effects of this bill won`t be felt by the public until long after November. They may lose a few seats, but thats about it. We fooled ourselves into thinking this bill could be defeated. And we`re now trying to fool ourselves about the November election. Even if by some miracle Republicans win in November, big deal. It would`nt unchange whats been done.

This is embarrassing because I watch and listen constantly...I was so overwhelmed with all the information coming in this past weekend.....so did I miss something? I thought it went to the Senate next.

When I saw all the tea party members on the Capitol lawn I was screaming at the tv for them to rush the building.
I honestly don't know what we can do but this is a sad, sad day in America.
One of my friends put up the thought that the media will be in full gear in October spouting all the "wonderful" aspects of the bill.
We need to target every single Dem district and bombard their opponents with money.
This is our lives we are talking about, the time for talking is over, we have to take action. That means write a check, I know the economy sucks but we have to throw these bums out and re-take our country.
Whoever is running against Stupak is going to get a lot of money from me. I would love to drive to Michigan and go door to door for his opponent. He is the biggest slime bag in this entire ordeal!
My prediction? With the IRS as the enforcement mechanism, we’ll be seeing the birth of a whole new industry; how to protect your cash and assets from the IRS; how to offshore you’re bucks and investments and how to avoid the IRS radar.
Another prediction? The “off the books” and “underground” economy will explode in size, breadth and depth.
The problem is, none of the benefits begin until 2014, and Obama has been hiding this fact for a year. So the impression of many folks now is they are about to get ObamaCare.
I plan to take advantage of this in the coming months, to screw with some heads and perhaps gin up some dissatisfaction, by asking some of the Marxists I know how they like their new ObamaCare. When they say nothing at all has changed for them yet, I'll say, that's odd, my friend so-and-so, who hasn't been able to afford health care for his family for many years, is now very happy with his new Obama coverage. Maybe you don't qualify for ObamaCare?
Heres another thing I heard on talk radio last night:
A small business owner called in - said he was firing all of his employees, then hiring them back as "independent contractors". Having them sign contractor docs, etc.
Lets him off the hook for both paying for employee insurance AND the $750 fine for NOT paying for employee insurance. He now has no "employees" - just "independent contractors".
Yup. God help us all until then...
