For the first time in our nation's history, Congress has passed comprehensive health care reform. America waited a hundred years and fought for decades to reach this moment. Tonight, thanks to you, we are finally here.
Consider the staggering scope of what you have just accomplished:
Because of you, every American will finally be guaranteed high quality, affordable health care coverage.
Every American will be covered under the toughest patient protections in history. Arbitrary premium hikes, insurance cancellations, and discrimination against pre-existing conditions will now be gone forever.
And we'll finally start reducing the cost of care -- creating millions of jobs, preventing families and businesses from plunging into bankruptcy, and removing over a trillion dollars of debt from the backs of our children.
But the victory that matters most tonight goes beyond the laws and far past the numbers.
It is the peace of mind enjoyed by every American, no longer one injury or illness away from catastrophe.
It is the workers and entrepreneurs who are now freed to pursue their slice of the American dream without fear of losing coverage or facing a crippling bill.
And it is the immeasurable joy of families in every part of this great nation, living happier, healthier lives together because they can finally receive the vital care they need.
This is what change looks like.
My gratitude tonight is profound. I am thankful for those in past generations whose heroic efforts brought this great goal within reach for our times. I am thankful for the members of Congress whose months of effort and brave votes made it possible to take this final step. But most of all, I am thankful for you.
This day is not the end of this journey. Much hard work remains, and we have a solemn responsibility to do it right. But we can face that work together with the confidence of those who have moved mountains.
Our journey began three years ago, driven by a shared belief that fundamental change is indeed still possible. We have worked hard together every day since to deliver on that belief.
We have shared moments of tremendous hope, and we've faced setbacks and doubt. We have all been forced to ask if our politics had simply become too polarized and too short-sighted to meet the pressing challenges of our time. This struggle became a test of whether the American people could still rally together when the cause was right -- and actually create the change we believe in.
Tonight, thanks to your mighty efforts, the answer is indisputable: Yes we can.

I am on that email list, too, as a spy. Here was my response that I sent:
We will fight you Marxist radicals. You have done much harm already to this great land; and if you have your way, you will “fundamentally transform” all that has made us great into that which will make us subservient. You who would have had the babies die in the buckets in Oak Lawn, IL, will now do Satan’s bidding, as the precious, hard-earned resources of the people will be taken through taxation and spent to murder more pre-born babies. Yes, God permitted Satan to have jurisdiction over this world, at least to some extent. But Our Lord is victorious in the end, and it is before Him that you and I will stand in judgement. Your bargain with Satan will conclude at that point, and you will bitterly regret having chosen a bargain with the father of lies over The One Who Is all truth. I and millions of other patriots will fight encroaching Marxism in our nation.
Yeah..and they still lost in VA, NJ and MA even after 0bozo had campaigned hard for their candidates, and the unions had spent millions of dollars for the Democrats in all 3 states.

The taxes kick in now, the benefits don't kick in till 2014. That's a recipe for disaster for the Democrats in November and 2012.

Republicans won control of the House for the first time in over 40 years, the last time the Democrats tried to shove Marxism down the throats of Americans in 1994. And Republicans continued to win the majorities in the House in the 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004 elections. Voters never forgot anything.
It was only after the Republicans had forgotten their fiscal conservatism, and taken to spending like idiots, that voters finally voted them out in 2006.

Your reply was encouraging... But as I understand that the taxes will happening immediately for those income in the 200/250 range... majority of people do not make that kind of money. I realized that the taxes on investment income will also kick in right away...but how many people buy/sell stocks & investment income.... what I am not very sure is the effect of capital gains for people with IRA, 401ks etc. If it affects majority of peoples life savings...come next April 15... then there might be outrage when people have to pay the IRS.... but again its’ April 2011.. November elections of 2010... is 7 months away. People do forget. My husband & I will not.... Media will play up the benefits... not how it really will effect Americans. I have been up all night watching this things evolve..... as well as if passed (and it did)... to say good bye to America that I knew.

I don’t, I have watched liberties being taken away little by little (good for the children, the elderly, you etc.) and people did nothing but go along. Granted last night the dems said screw you to the American people. But there is still 30 - 40% who support this bill.
Media is a very strong Commie supporter.. and whether you like it or not majority still get their news from them. As well as comedy channels. Marxism is taught in Colleges... those young minds are full of mush.
Unions have won this fight and election corruption will go up. Soros has billions to fight against freedom loving people (us)...I will grant that in more conservative states election corruption is not be as strong - unless Soros can put in fake conservative in the Secretary State position in those states.

Have you ever wondered why the American people don’t insist that congress critters & senators live by the same laws they enact for us?.... I believe we need to do this.
