Perhaps . . . for awhile CT. But I believe this is a Pyrrhic victory. "A representative democracy cannot long endure a political class that is so out of touch with the populace."

I saw this first hand with the recall of Gov. Gray Davis out here on the left-coast.

They are convinced that their policies are actually popular, in spite of every piece of data to the contrary. This November will not just be about the House and Senate, but also the state house races wherein they could be decimated. A fact which is critical to the future of their party. The winners of these races will draw new legislative districts next year. A GOP rout in statehouses could doom the Democrats for a decade.

It's just an opinion but I think the word "citizen" will soon gain new meaning and strength.
