Reminds me of the first Nascar race I took wife to. After watching the race between track dryers for two hours, she said no more. They called it about the time we got to the car.

Race was on Monday that year.

We used to get gully washers at the old dirt clay track.. they’d get real dirty when they finally ran.. and sometimes they didn’t.. we didn’t have no dryers./ well grain dryers, but.. 8-|

1:13 p.m. — The drizzle has slowed and the jet dryers are back to drying the track.

1:05 p.m. — There is steady drizzle falling at the track right now.

1:01 p.m. — The Virginia Military Institute Glee Club performs the national anthem.

1:00 p.m. — Roger Marsh of Raceway Ministries delivers the Invocation.

12:59 p.m. — The track dryers are on the track and the green flag has been pushed back to allow more time for the dryers to work.

We hit the high 70s here yesterday and it is sunny and headed back there today before some spring wet brushes thru here this week.

1:39 p.m. — Track drying efforts continue and NASCAR officials look to have Martinsville Speedway ready to race at 2:45 p.m. ET. The radar doesn’t look promising, though, as a big rain cell is approaching from the west.
